Take a small fingertip of Vaseline, roughly the size of a pea, and warm it between your fingers until it goes from solid to soft and clear.
Snip or puncture one evening primrose capsule and squeeze the oil onto your fingertips with the Vaseline.
Rub everything together so the oil disperses into the petroleum jelly. It won’t fully emulsify because they’re both oil-based, but they blend enough to apply evenly.
Press (don’t rub) the mixture onto the areas where you want it. Under-eyes, around the mouth, forehead, and neck are the usual targets. A little goes a long way.
Sleep on a clean pillowcase. This stuff will transfer.
In the morning, cleanse with a mild face wash. Vaseline doesn’t come off with water alone, so you need a real cleanser to remove it. Skip strong actives the next morning (no acids, no retinol) because your barrier will already be in repair mode and adding actives on top is overkill. CleaningAgents

What you should actually expect
After about a week of doing this three or four nights, you’ll probably notice that your skin feels softer and looks plumper in the morning, fine lines around the eyes look less defined, any flaky patches calm down, and your makeup applies more smoothly the next day.

What you won’t see is your deep wrinkles disappearing. The lines etched into your skin from years of expression, sun exposure, and collagen loss need different treatments. Tretinoin, daily sunscreen, and procedures like microneedling do that kind of work. Vaseline and primrose oil are supporting players, not headliners.

A lot of natural skincare content online overpromises in this exact spot, which is annoying because the realistic version is still genuinely worth doing.

Who should be careful
A few honest cautions before you try this.

If you’re acne-prone, especially with cystic or hormonal breakouts, Vaseline on your full face is probably a bad idea. It’s not technically comedogenic (it can’t clog pores because it doesn’t penetrate), but it can trap whatever else is on your skin against the surface, including bacteria. Stick to under-eye and around-the-mouth application if your skin breaks out easily. Skin& Nail Care

Don’t use this on freshly exfoliated skin. If you’ve used an acid toner or a retinol that evening, skip the slug. You’ll just trap the active and irritate yourself.

Always patch test the evening primrose oil first. Put a drop behind your ear or on your inner arm and wait 24 hours. Oils can cause contact reactions in a small percentage of people, and you don’t want to find out by waking up with a swollen face.

If you’re pregnant or have a hormone-sensitive condition, talk to your doctor before using evening primrose oil topically or internally. It has mild hormonal effects that can matter in those situations.
